This entails continual monitoring and improvements wherever the need is identified. The Group Companies also operate to 'Nature's Choice' and the 'Bord Bia' scheme both of which strive for sustainable and balanced development in environmental protection. We aim to provide all employees with a safe and pleasant working environment giving security through training, remuneration and pension's for themselves and their families. We will do so in a manner designed to make everyone satisfied that we operate professionally, ethically and in a socially and environmentally responsible manner.

Ethical Trading Policy

We aim to act fairly and responsibly in our commercial and trading activity towards both growers and customers, and to help and guide our growers towards continued growth. We will strive to do everything we can to ensure that the working conditions of people working for ourselves, growers and sub-suppliers meet all local and international standards and those demanded by all our customers. Our aim is to provide a workplace which encourages growth, association and freedom of speech and in which our employees and those of our labour providers, feel safe and content with every scope for personal improvement.

Anti-Slavery and Human trafficking statement

Walsh Mushrooms operates across the UK and Ireland. Our mushrooms are sourced from national and international suppliers. We have introduced several measures to help aid us in ensuring that we meet best practice on all issues with respect to direct and indirect labour, in respect of the following legislation within the Anti-Slavery Act Oct 2015:- covering matters like employment, wages, health and safety, environment and human trafficking. We undertake all reasonable and practical steps, including site inspections and third party audits of our supply base and labour provider, to ensure that our standards are being implemented throughout the business and that legislation is complied with. Any instances of non-compliance found will have remedial action taken. We will only trade with those who fully comply with this policy or those who are taking verifiable steps towards compliance.

This statement has been approved by our Board of Directors, who will review and update it as necessary on an annual basis.
